ソロでも活躍するトラックメイカーLapin、ファッションブランドSKAMKのディレクターを務めるVocalのKodai、フランス語ラップを操り最近ではトラック製作もこなすRidéによるフリースタイルユニット。ときには即興でMCを披露するなど、ジャンルどころかルールすら無用なプレイを提供する。
またオリジナルトラックにも定評があり、「kidz Rec.Vol.1」に収録された「Tokyo Arcade Mode」は東京のエレクトロシーンで話題を呼んだ。
活動は国内外を問わず、2008、2009年と二年連続で海外豪華アーティストを招聘しているフランス、ストラスブールのパーティー「Ghetto Hype」に出演。 国内でも幾多の海外アーティストとの競演も経験している。
Members, Lapin, Kodai, and Ride, make up this genre-breaking unit. Lapin serving as the trackmaker, Kodai on vocals and DJ, and Ride, who is the MC, rapping in French, Kinkies is difficult to put a stylistic label on. As well as musically, Kodai is also creative in the world of fashion, starting and designing for his own clothing company, “Skank.”
In their original release, “kidz Rec. Vol 1,” a single from that album, titled “Tokyo Arcade Mode,” became a hit in Tokyo’s Electronic music scene.
In 2008 and 2009, Kinkies were sought after by organizers, and performed in France at a party titled “Ghetto Hype.”
Presently, Kinkies are continuing to perform in Japan and overseas, also collaborating with artists worldwide.
